In an effort to avoid doing the things I should be doing, I made this bag out of a corduroy skirt I made in high school (which obviously doesn’t fit anymore) and a pair of slacks from that one summer I worked at that horribly boring office job (which I won’t be doing again either hopefully). The pattern was in the One Yard Wonders book Megan gave me for Christmas. It’s a cool book. However, I cut out the pieces in LaCrosse and then ran off to Madison without the book, so I didn’t have the directions on how to sew it up with me...so I just guessed at how it went together and what the seam allowances are...I think it turned out fine, except that the pocket I added to the outside looks sort of out of place with the pleats (which is probably why the original pattern didn’t have a pocket on the outside). Sometimes I should just turn my brain off instead of thinking I can do better than the person who wrote the pattern. But not all the time.
Finished project #6. And a bit of progress towards using up the pile of old clothes.

A new life for clothes
