We spent New Years off the Florida Coast on the Cramer.  We celebrated at midnight GMT time (7pm...sleep is too precious at sea to get up in the middle of the night if you aren’t on watch).  We each got our birthday page out of the 2009 Nautical Almanac and threw them into the ocean.

I have quite a few goals to accomplish this year...hopefully.

  1. 1)Get a new job...and a place to live.

  2. 2)Get my knitting book published, or distributed in some form.

  3. 3)Finish my other knitting patterns and get them into pdf form.

  4. 4)Cull all my knitting and sewing and crafting supplies.  Dad made me a really beautiful cedar chest and I think soon all of my knitting and spinning stuff will fit into it.  I decided limiting myself by physical space is really the best way to keep things in line.  Before I tried to not buy yarn or fabric but then I would just collect huge piles of old clothes and plastic bags and...well.

  5. 5)Get my computer organized and finally print out photos for my album from the past few years.  I was really good about that for a while, then I guess I fell off the wagon.

  6. 6)Cull my wardrobe by about half.  I still have a ton of stuff that I never really wear.  Mostly I’ve been keeping things I want to cut up for recombinant clothing...but hopefully by the end of the year I will actually have done it, or have gotten rid of it.

  7. 7)As a means to the end of goals 4 and 6, I want to make 52 projects again this year, but this time try to make as many as possible out of materials I already have (I would say all but I already bought new yarn in Key West for a project...I couldn’t help myself).  Also this year I’ll try to photo document all the projects on the blog.

  8. 8)Work on my Etsy store...see if I can get some collections of things up instead of random projects...and make up bag templates for sewing custom order bags from old clothes, instead of just making it up every time.

Oh dear, I guess I had better get cracking.
